Nutella Butter Cookie Bars
A good friend of mine just had a baby! We were invited over to meet the little one and I wanted to bring a treat for her family. I was searching for Nutella recipes (because who doesn’t like Nutella?), and found a recipe for Nutella Butter Cookie Bars on the Picky Palate website. Perfect!
This recipe sounded pretty straight forward. First you make a dough with butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, vanilla pudding mix, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. Spread half the dough in the bottom of a 8×8 lined with parchment. Add approximately 3/4 cup of Nutella on top of the dough. Then drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough on top of the Nutella layer. Bake for 35 minutes or until baked through.
These are some tasty little gems! The buttery cookie dough is sweet, but savory, so you don’t have to worry about sugar overload. The creamy Nutella marries well with the cookie that surrounds it. The hit of nuttiness in the spread adds a rustic, warm taste to the bar. Make sure you try one while they are still warm!! It is utterly divine!
